The Air Force Services Activity wants to know how it can improve Air Force installation courses, so course managers will soon send invitations to participate in a survey that seeks feedback from golfers who have visited an installation course in the last 12 months.
Course managers selected the survey start time based on when they can garner the greatest number of golfers to participate. About a third of the 63 installation golf courses begin surveying this month with the remainder staged to begin in June and July.
Those who complete the survey, which takes about 10 minutes, will help shape the future of Air Force golf courses and programs.
“The survey is installation-specific. Each course has its own specific improvement opportunities,” said Chris Bowles, the AFSVA golf program manager and a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. “After the survey data is collected, each manager will use that information to develop an action plan,”
Improvements resulting from past surveys run the gamut from improving drainage on specific bunkers, adding course marshals to work on pace of play, to staff training and leveling tee boxes.
The goal is to get real data from those who play the course, Bowles said. Golfers should look for an email from their course manager. The email will contain a link to a page where they select their course.
“All of our golf managers are interested in hearing from their patrons,” said Carol Sudy, the AFSVA marketing and strategy division chief. “We made it easy to find the short survey. Golfers can go to their course-specific link through the email, on www.myairforcelife.com or picking up a paper survey at the pro shop.”
“By taking a few minutes to fill out the survey, Air Force golfers can help make each course — their course — the best it can be,” Bowles said.
