Berea City Council considers increase to EMS ambulance service fees – cleveland.com

Emergency medical services and ambulance transport rates may be increasing in Berea. 

BEREA, Ohio — Berea officials last increased emergency medical service fees and associated ambulance transport charges in 2009. At Monday night’s city council meeting, an ordinance raising those rates received its first public reading.

Based on a cleveland.com analysis of Berea, Brook Park and Middleburg Heights for three-tier EMS ambulance service, it appears the Berea increases are similar to the other two cities. Berea’s new rates would be $550 for basic life support, $650 for advanced life support level 1 and $750 for advanced life support level 2. The one-way mileage fee would be $14 per mile.

The prior 2009 two-tier rates in Berea were $450 for basic life support and $600 for advanced life support. Mileage was $10 per mile.
