Giving homemade cards they’ll want to keep – The Ellsworth American

HANCOCK — Do you have Christmas card envy?

We did until we took Terri Beal’s Christmas card-making class at Shirley’s Yarns & Gifts in Hancock last month.

Beal walked us through a number of simple steps using stamps, textured papers, glitter and other tools to create cards.

We walked away with five festive cards that look too nice to give away.

“Christmas cards are so fun,” Beal said. “Everybody likes to get the homemade cards.”

Beal is teaching another Christmas card-making class on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. The course is $20 and all supplies are provided.

“I have been scrapbooking since at least 2004,” Beal said.

Several years ago, Beal had a scrapbooking store in Trenton called The Crop Shop.

Today, Beal does business as Cutting Loose.

“Now I have the best of both worlds,” she said. “I have the classes, but I also go to craft fairs.”
