The International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) has announced it intends to launch six projects aiming to find alternatives to technologies that use chemistry which may be hazardous to human health and the environment. These projects involve major players in the aerospace industry and will formally launch in 2017.
The following technology areas will be investigated:
- Hard chrome plating;
- Chromate conversion coatings;
- Chromic acid anodizing;
- Cadmium plating on industry standard parts;
- Bonding primers; and
- Structural primers.
