Maureen O’Hagan speaks with KUOW about the mysterious story of Lori Ruff.
The Seattle Times first published the mysterious story of Lori Ruff, who died in Texas in 2010. After her death her family discovered that Ruff wasn’t who they thought she was and had assumed another person’s identity years earlier.
Reporter Maureen O’Hagan stuck with the story and can finally answer the question about Ruff’s true identity. The original story, published in 2013, inspired many theories about Ruff’s true identity and what caused her to take such a drastic action.
O’Hagan was on KUOW’s Morning Edition Monday to talk about the story of Lori Ruff. O’Hagan also answered questions on Facebook last week with forensic genealogist Colleen Fitzpatrick, who helped solve the mystery.
