CORONA – A Metrolink train heading toward Orange County from Corona struck a truck Wednesday morning, causing delays for commuters heading into Orange County, according to the agency’s Twitter account.

Train 805 struck the vehicle somewhere between the North Main Corona and West Corona stops shortly after 6 a.m., according to Twitter, and will be closed indefinitely for an investigation.

The truck tried to beat the train at a crossing, said Corona police Sgt. Paul Mercado. The cab wasn’t hit, but the trailer it was hauling was knocked over.

Miraculously, no injuries were reported, Mercado said.

Line 807 to Laguna Niguel will be delayed two hours and 700 to Riverside will be delayed 90 minutes because of this incident, the agency said.
