Oakland fire victims include high school student, gallery director and musicians


Musicians and artists who were integral members of Oakland’s creative community are among the 33 victims who perished in the city’s warehouse blaze. 

What began as a fun night of dancing at an electronic music event turned into tragedy when the Oakland Ghost Ship burst into flames around 11.30pm on Friday. 

Cash Askew, 22, David Cline, 24, Nick Gomez-Hall, 25, Sara Hoda, 30, Donna Kellogg, 32, Nex Iuguolo, 32, and Travis Hough, 35, were identified as victims by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau on Sunday.

Pete Wadsworth, Barrett Clark, Ara Jo, Jonathan Bernbaum and 17-year-old Draven McGill also perished in the fire, according to friends and family members on social media.
